You know how those Psychology exam study sessions go...
Anyway, I wanted to bring something up that we didn't get a chance to discuss on Tuesday. I find it super interesting. It comes from Off the Books (sorry about going back- just wondering what people thought about this). That is, this idea of the mediation groups big cat and the pastor and Marlene and some other set up for. What do you guys think? Big Cat struggled to find a balanced "trust" from his leaders as well as members of the community. He was striving for trust from both groups seemingly to maintain some type of power. People had mixed feelings about the mediation group. Some talked about how they were unsure about the community taking the law into their own hands. As we saw, some of the groups talk/action was successful some was not. Do you think when there is unreliable/poor police work being done for a community, community members should take matters into their own hands and do what they think is best? What are the most severe consequences? What if the group gets in trouble with the law for collaborating or cooperating with the gang? What are the benefits? Any thoughts on this?
